It is my honor and privilege to serve as President of IAFF Local 964, the proud union representing the Battalion Chiefs, Captains, and Lieutenants who lead Baltimore’s Bravest every single day.

Since our charter in 1948, Local 964 has stood as the dedicated voice of command officers. From the hand-collected dues of our founders in the face of open hostility to the modern battles we fight today for fair contracts, safe staffing, quality healthcare, and the equipment our members need to come home safely — our mission has never changed. Strength in Unity is not just our motto. It is the force that has carried us through every challenge for more than 75 years.

We are the officers who run toward danger so others don’t have to. We are the leaders who make split-second decisions that save lives and protect our city. And we are the union that refuses to accept anything less than the compensation, benefits, training, and respect our members have earned through their service.

In the years ahead, Local 964 will continue to push aggressively on the issues that matter most:

• Competitive wages and longevity pay that reflect the true cost of living and the risks we face.
• Safe and adequate staffing levels that protect both our members and the citizens we serve.
• Cutting-edge health and wellness programs to combat the physical and mental toll of this job.
• Modern apparatus, equipment free of toxic PFAS, and the resources needed to do the job right.
• Strong legislative advocacy at the Federal, State, and Local levels to secure the laws and funding our profession demands.

To our members: know that your Executive Board is working tirelessly on your behalf. Whether it is at the bargaining table, in Annapolis, or in the halls of City Hall, we carry your voices and your priorities with us every step of the way.

To the citizens of Baltimore and to those considering a career in the fire service: Local 964 stands ready to work with anyone who shares our commitment to a safer, stronger city and a fire department that is properly supported and respected.
